Paranormal (EPINY) FAQ

Helpful Information

What can I expect from my investigation-

When we receive an e-mail for an investigation, you will be asked to fill out a client questionnaire. Once we receive this back filled out completely, we will review the application and possibly set up a day/time to meet with the client and ask some basic questions about the experiences that they have had in the home or location.  After that, we will set up another date and time for an investigation, if we deem it necessary.  Before our investigation, we will research the home or location (it may be possible that something historic or tragic took place there). When we arrive on the night of the investigation, we will set up our equipment. We will require that the client or representative either find a quiet spot to remain in distanced from our team's equipment to avoid cross interference/contamination of audio and video or possibly stay with a friend or family member during our investigation. Please refrain from inviting friends and relatives over to watch the investigation without permission of, EPINY. After we complete the investigation, we will begin reviewing all of the evidence in the days/weeks to follow, and then set up a meeting where we will discuss the evidence with the client. The estimated time to receive the full review is 6-8 weeks however, depending on the situation at hand you may receive from us a preliminary findings review with some immediate advice to help and or rectify the situation to help you get by until the full extensive review is completed.
We document and analyze all of our findings during our investigations and attempt to determine the true nature of the activity.  All of our team members have full time jobs, families, and other commitments. This means that every case we work, all of our research and evidence review has to be done by working around personal schedules and commitments. Evidence data may take 6 ‑ 8 weeks to review, some cases may take longer.  If there is a lot of activity to review the documentation process can take much longer.  Keep in mind, if we investigate for 6 hours, we have that much audio/video to review (per camera, per recorder).  You will be provided a copy of any evidence found, if requested.  Please have patience with us. Our hope is that through research and a common sense approach, we can achieve a better understanding of any possible phenomena. When investigating the paranormal, we make every effort to find legitimate answers to unexplained phenomenon. Additionally, there may be times when all approaches are unable to fully explain paranormal events in question. In the paranormal field, not every question ends with an answer.  We will not attempt to create elaborate conclusions for unanswerable questions.

I would like to become a paranormal investigator; what is the process with your team?

First and foremost, you must be at least 18 years of age. If you are of age, we will call you to set up an interview once we have received your request via email. (The interview is informal). We will ask you to fill out an application form in advance and during the interview we will ask some basic questions (to get to know you better). We will be running a background check, also. We enter clients' homes and business for investigations, and we need to maintain a safe, respectable team for our client's (and our) safety.  If it is decided you have potential to be a good fit for our team, we will then have you come out with us on investigations as an "investigator in training" for a certain amount of time. Once it is determined you're a good fit for the team and you also equally feel the same, we will consider the possibility of having you join as a member.

Is everything that goes "Bump-in-the-night" paranormal?

An important consideration to make when booking us as a paranormal team is that many times, activity that is thought to be paranormal is not. We utilize tools which allow us to determine whether or not there is in fact activity, but also allow us to potentially find a source that is firmly rooted in the living world – things like plumbing and/or heating issues, naturally aging old homes, faulty appliances, or possibly a dusty environment causing backscatter in digital photographs. We are not biased towards debunking the paranormal, but we will only accept or provide evidence that we feel meets our standards of analysis. At times, we cannot say with certainty whether an activity is paranormal or not, solely due to the number of variables at play.
